Artistic Director, Pine Mountain Music Festival, 2003-2014

Mr. Major was Artistic Director of the Pine Mountain Music Festival (PMMF) from 2003-2014. Joshua produced over 300 concerts of symphony, chamber music, recitals and opera. The mission of the Festival is to produce quality live classical music for the communities of the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan. PMMF has a strong nationally recognized program for emerging young professional singers, giving them professional experience with orchestra and performance opportunities under the guidance of professional artists in the industry. He programed 11 successful seasons, highlights include the commissioning of Rockland, a new opera with its roots in the Upper Peninsula composed by one of Finland's leading composers, Jukka Linkola. The opera had its world premiere in Nivala, Finland and its North American premiere in Houghton, MI. Mr.Major directed the following productions during his tenure as Artistic Director:
